HOK Advanced Technology Group
Business Objective: Communicate internal progress for a major business initiative to all company employees worldwide at HOK, a global architectural firm that specializes in planning, design and delivery solutions for buildings and communities.
Situation: The Advanced Technology Group at HOK planned a live demonstration and progressive report on a new company initiative—buildingSMART, a building concept that focuses on information management to better facilitate project team work. The buildingSMART demonstration was shared at a board of directors meeting in San Francisco, but the team wanted to educate all employees in its 26 offices worldwide about this firm-wide project. HOK needed a dynamic production company to capture the meeting and the technical interface into a compelling and educational video presentation.
The Mercury Solution: Mercury Multimedia produced an informative 60-minute video encapsulating the buildingSMART presentation. The finished Flash video included seventeen chapters of live computer demonstrations and portions of the taped presentation interspersed with hundreds of pre-taped screen captures. Mercury’s simple Flash interface allowed viewers to easily see and follow the presentation.
Timeline: 2 months
Results: The video enabled more than 2,100 HOK employees to learn the about the buildingSMART concept and to see actual demonstrations of how the technology interfaced between architects, engineers and developers.
