Chris Lawing is an award-winning filmmaker with over 14 years of
directing and editing experience in film, video and broadcast content. He served as an assistant editor on Pixar’s Monsters Inc. and Showtime’s The Settlement. Chris’ film and television editing credits also include: Showtime’s BBGun, the independent feature Uncommon Friends and the indie short film The Good Things. He launched his independent filmmaking career by writing, directing and editing the feature film emily’s ghost. Chris has directed and edited more than 150 television episodes including TechTV’s X-Play and cinemattractions, a nationally syndicated movie reviews show.

As President of Mercury, Chris has directed and produced numerous commercials, marketing and sales videos and television content including for an OnDemand channel in Atlanta. Recently, he earned numerous recognitions for directing the music video Movie of Your Life, including a Telly award, two DV awards and top honors at the Saint Louis Filmmakers Showcase including “Most Creative” and “Best Special Effects.”
